A RTIFICIAL PERCEPTION GROUPInstituto de Automática Industrial Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas |
Main GPA research is devoted to the paradigm of sensing, representation and knowledge organization for real time decision making in complex and uncertain domains.
Heterogeneous sensors and actuators are framed on distributed architectures with specific purpose processors focused to the particular requirements of an application. Perceptual schemes have been developed for data fusion and empirical studies aimed at an active perception for artificial systems in the fields of machining processes, transportation monitoring, quality control and autonomous mobile robots.
Different aspects of the research in perception/action mechanisms for state detection/maintenance and target accomplishment, have conducted to the AMARA architecture.
Staff members of the GPA group are:
Dr. Domingo Guinea (Systems Department)
Dr. Maria C. Garcia-Alegre (System Department)
Dr. Angela Ribeiro (Computer Science Department)
Within the group several Engineers and Phisicist do research to obtain their Ph.D. and Master degree Diploma.
GPA group is involved in cooperative research projects with several research group, and Professors are invited to accomplish
short and long terms stages at the IAI-CSIC. Members of the GPA group are also invited to visit related research groups.
